Search by Position Data - NAF

To search for a position description, fill in all applicable fields then click the Search button.
Click the icon, to bring up a list of valid values.

PD#:

A number assigned to a Position Description (PD).  Can be between 1 - 15 digits (numeric or alpha).  PD numbers for newly created positions within FASCLASS will have a PD number automatically assigned.

Position Title:

A title assigned to a position based on classification criteria. When creating new positions, title will auto-populate, once series had been input. Interdisciplinary position title will auto-populate to the word INTERDISCIPLINARY.

Indicates which pay system the position is covered by. Use List of Values to make a selection.

Series: Click here to pull up a table of Series information.

A series is a subdivision of an occupational group, consisting of positions similar as to specialized line of work and qualification requirements. Title and number such as Accounting, Series GS-0510 and Secretary, GS-0318, designate series. When creating a new position, once series has been entered, the system will auto-populate the Title and Citation fields.  When creating an Interdisciplinary position click the More Titles button to add your series. Use List of Values to make selection.

Grade/Level: Click here to pull up a table of Grade information.

The numerical designation that identifies the range of difficulty and responsibility, and level of qualification requirements of positions.  Use List of Values to make selection.

Region:

Using the Drop Down Arrow select a Civilian Personnel Operation Center.  On some screens the system will default to your assigned region.

 

Position Duties:

The major duties and other important aspects of the position that may affect the final classification.  Generally, major duties are those that occupy a significant portion of the employee's time.  They should be only those duties currently assigned, observable, identified with the position purpose and organization, and expected to continue or recur on a regular basis.
